Micromax, once a popular smartphone brand in India, is taking a new direction. According to Rahul Sharma, the Co-Founder of Micromax, the company is still active but will not launch new smartphones anytime soon.
Moving to Manufacturing
Instead of making phones, Micromax is now focusing on manufacturing phone parts. The company runs four factories where it produces components for other mobile brands. This shift helps Micromax use its experience to support the growing demand for mobile hardware in India.
Exploring AI and Affordable Services
Micromax is also planning to enter the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The company is exploring ways to build AI hardware and launch a new B2B (business-to-business) service. This service will offer AI solutions to schools, colleges, and businesses at a cost much lower than the current market price—just 1/10th of the usual rate.
This move shows that Micromax is not just adapting but is also looking to lead in new areas like AI. By offering affordable solutions, the company can help more organizations access advanced technology.
A Fresh Start for Micromax
Micromax may not be making smartphones now, but its new focus on manufacturing and AI shows that it is ready to grow in different directions. This change reflects how companies in India are finding new ways to stay relevant and succeed.
It will be interesting to see how Micromax’s plans unfold in the coming months.
