EduGaon: Bringing Tech Careers to Rural Bihar

/

Founded in 2018 by Rahul Raj and Vijay Kumar, the startup has taken on an ambitious challenge:
to bring industry-ready IT and communication training directly to rural India—rather than waiting for rural youth to migrate to metro cities.

A Vision Rooted in Rural Empowerment

At the heart of EduGaon’s mission is a simple but powerful belief:
Students in small towns deserve the same access to high-demand skills as students in big cities.

EduGaon puts this vision front and centre on its website:
“To empower rural students in India by improving their English communication skills and training them with emerging technology.”

What began in 2019 with a single centre in Amnour, Bihar, and just eight students, has grown into a movement. Today, EduGaon trains tens of thousands of learners across software engineering, data analytics, communication development, and career readiness.

Their model follows a clear promise:
Learn → Build → Earn

What Makes EduGaon Different?

✔ Industry-Relevant, Job-Ready Training

Instead of focusing on textbook content, EduGaon teaches the skills that the job market demands today—coding, app development, software tools, analytics, and more.
Their philosophy is clear:
“We focus on real-world skills, not just academic qualifications.”

✔ Rural-First Footprint

Their centres are placed intentionally in non-metro towns like Amnour and Chapra, directly solving the problem of access.
Students no longer need to move to Patna, Delhi, or Bangalore for high-quality tech training.

✔ English + Technology: A Powerful Combo

EduGaon recognises a gap that many training institutes overlook:
Indian students often learn technical skills but lack strong communication skills needed for interviews, client interaction, or workplace confidence.

EduGaon blends both—ensuring learners are technically skilled and professionally confident.

✔ A Clear Promise: “100% Job Ready”

EduGaon doesn’t just stop at teaching.
They help students build portfolios, prepare for interviews, and connect with employers—turning education into employment.

Impact: Transforming Lives, One Skill at a Time

The most powerful proof of EduGaon’s impact comes from the students themselves.

Stories include young learners from small towns who:

  • mastered Flutter development,
  • built real-world projects,
  • created online portfolios, and
  • secured jobs in tech—often becoming the first in their families to enter the IT sector.

One alumnus says:
“EduGaon helped me build an online portfolio and get a job in software development.”

These stories mirror a quiet revolution—talent from rural India rising into global tech careers.

The Road Ahead

As India accelerates its push for Digital Inclusion and Skill Development, EduGaon stands at the intersection of need and opportunity.
The startup plans further expansion into rural districts, aiming to reach thousands more who are ready to learn but lack access or resources.

For students in rural India dreaming of a career in technology, EduGaon serves as a bridge.
For policymakers looking to close the rural–urban skill divide, it offers a proven model.

EduGaon’s message is clear:
Bring the training to the students.
Blend technology with communication.
Connect learning with real jobs.

And in doing so, unlock the potential of India—beyond city limits.
